Chia seeds

Chia seeds have become one of the most popular superfoods in the health community. They are easy to digest when prepared properly, and are a very versatile ingredient that adds easily to recipes. They are nutrient dense and full of energy boosting power. Chia is super-high in fiber, providing nearly 11 grams per ounce. One serving can provide the recommended fiber intake for the day.

Being high in dietary fiber, chia helps promote bowel regularity and healthy stool. The rich fiber content in chia seeds also helps people feel more full quicker because it absorbs a considerable amount of water and immediately expands in the stomach when eaten.

Chia seeds’ ability to reverse inflammation, regulate cholesterol and lower blood pressure make it extremely beneficial to consume for heart health.By adding a serving of chia seeds a day you can help boost your metabolism and burn belly fat as well.

Studies show that the addition of chia seeds to your diet also reduces visceral adipose tissue, a “belly fat” tissue that effects the metabolism of the body and is a component of obesity.

Its abundant vitamin K content is important for bone health, forestalling the effects of osteoporosis. And the folic acid and B6 provide cardiovascular support and prevent heart disease.

Moringa

Moringa is one of the most powerful health-enhancing plants. While many things found in nature can have one or two health benefits, Moringa has many. Moringa leaves are best known as an excellent source of nutrition and natural energy boosters. This energy boost is not based on sugar, and so it is sustained.

Moringa is also soothing. It helps lower blood pressure and is a sleep aid. Its detoxifying effect may come from Moringa's ability to purify water. Moringa acts as a coagulant attaching itself to harmful material and bacteria. Juice from the leaves is believed to have a stabilizing effect on blood pressure and is used to treat anxiety. It is believed to control glucose levels in cases of diabetes.

Moringa is considered to have the highest protein ratio of any plant so far identified, with the protein in Moringa being comparable in quality to that of soy. Moringa is also able to aid in providing an individual with healthy, radiant skin due being rich in anti-oxidants and skin-loving vitamins A, E, riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3) as well as zinc, promoting healthy, radiant skin.

Moringa also contains almost 25% protein including all nine essential amino acids, which help support the building blocks of proteins required for optimum growth, repair and maintenance of healthy skin cells. Reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Moringa is especially high in vitamin A (325% RDA per 100g) and iron (468% RDA per 100g) which support the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Vitamin A is needed for normal production of red blood cells and iron contributes to normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin, the substance in red blood cells that transports oxygen around the body. If you don’t have enough iron, your body has to work harder to get the energy it needs, which can leave you feeling tired. The high iron content also makes moringa ideal for vegans, vegetarians, fighting fatigue and iron-deficiencies.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a product of the prickly but succulent aloe vera plant, which has been used in herbal medicine for thousands of years due to its healing, rejuvenating and soothing properties. Sweet Potato

The health and weight management benefits of sweet potato far exceed the nutritional value found in ordinary white and yellow fleshed potatoes. Sweet potatoes contain almost twice as much fiber as other types of potatoes. Contributing close to 7 grams of fiber per serving, they make an excellent starchy addition to any meal. The high fiber content gives them a "slow burning" quality.

They contain a large amount of vitamin B6. This vitamin is crucial in breaking down a substance called homocysteine, which contributes to hardening of the arteries and blood vessels. Vitamin B6 helps keep the walls of these important blood passageways flexible and healthy which allows blood to flow freely. In addition, sweet potatoes contain high amounts of potassium which assists in lowering blood pressure by ridding the body of excess sodium and regulating fluid balance. It is also an important electrolyte that helps regulate the natural rhythm of the heart, and maintains normal function of the brain and central nervous system.

The vitamin A content is an important antioxidant. One medium sweet potato provides your body with the complete recommended daily allowance of vitamin A. Vitamin A is useful in the prevention of several different types of cancer as it is one of the most potent antioxidants out there. It is also a great source of manganese Manganese is a little-discussed trace mineral that has some great health benefits. It is a pivotal component in the metabolism of carbohydrates which helps support healthy blood sugar levels.

This can help stabilize the appetite for hours as opposed to the temporary satisfaction that comes with most other carbohydrates. It also is a cofactor in enzymes that play an important role in the generation of energy as well as the efficient utilization of antioxidants. As if being one of the top vegetable sources of beta-carotene weren't enough, sweet potatoes are also rich in vitamins C and E. These are potent antioxidant vitamins that play an important role in disease prevention and longevity.

This is because the high content of nitrates in beetroot produce a gas called nitric oxide in the blood which widens blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. A daily dose of 250ml of beetroot juice or 1 to 2 cooked beetroot (approx. 100g) can help dramatically reduce blood pressure and its associated risks.

Bell peppers also lowers inflammation in the arteries that leads to heart disease, diabetes, and cholesterol build up, also assisting in the removal of harmful free radicals from the body. Red bell peppers contain several phytochemicals and carotenoids, particularly beta-carotene which aids the body in antioxidant removal. The capsaicin in bell peppers has multiple health benefits. Studies show that it reduces ‘bad’ cholesterol, controls diabetes, brings relief from pain and eases inflammation.

The sulfur content in bell peppers makes them play a protective role in certain types of cancers. It is also a good source of Vitamin E, which is known to play a key role in keeping skin and hair looking youthful. All colors of bell pepper are high sources of potassium. This mineral helps keep your fluids and minerals balanced in your body, enhancing muscle function and regulating blood pressure.
